Here’s a recommended checklist of what you’ll need to bring:

  • Passport (must be valid for at least 6 months beyond intended stay in Indonesia).

  • Airline ticket or equivalent.

  • US cash for arrival ($35USD in new bills or IRP450,000) and some Indonesian Rupiah for souvenirs, and extra beer if required. You always need money out there. We supply everything you need to keep you healthy, but smokes and trinkets are on you and they are cheap and you will want them when the locals paddle over in their canoe! There is an ATM at the airport but on the outside, so please have your visa money before you hit Padang airport!

  • We recommend bringing old board shorts, tshirts and hats to trade with or to give to crew. It goes along way with them and they love it. Tipping your crew at the end of the trip is highly recommended also, doesn't need to be much $20 from each is less than a round of beers, yet a heap for the crew!

  • Travel insurance documents. This is mandatory before you step onboard ISMARI and a copy must be emailed along with a copy of your passport before you depart your country of residence!

  • Any medication you may need or that your doctor recommends for travelling to Indonesia.

  • A small personal first-aid kit with betadine to help keep small cuts clean.

  • Mosquito and insect repellent for visiting islands.

  • Sunglasses and a hat.

  • Light long sleeved shirt and light long pants.

  • Regular clothing including surf wear.

  • Reading material and/or playing cards.

  • A photocopy of your passport, ticket and insurance emailed to yourself so you have a copy on file is highly recommended.
